type='text'>I absolutely **LOVED** this "speed dating" concept...

I absolutely **LOVED** this "speed dating" concept... it was a GREAT way to get to know each other and get a baseline covered on lots of different topics... But the things I personally loved the most about this was how people answered my specific question for each group:

"If you could say anything to the CEO of Experience, what would it be?"

And the most common response -- the one that I heard from every single group -- was to say "we want to say 'thank you' for the amazing team at Experience who provide so much help and support at every turn."

Although I hear this ALL the time, I never, ever get tired of hearing that feedback -- and I couldn't agree more. I am, without a doubt, the luckiest CEO on the entire planet, having the very best team of passionate, brilliant, creative, committed and customer-focused people I have ever known. All of us who have committed our careers to supporting the success of the next generation are **so lucky** to have the Experience superstars on the case. They impress me every single day, and it truly makes my day to hear from you all how much they mean to you, too.

Thank you all for sharing that very, very meaningful feedback with me :)

Wow... Lindsey's presentation was the best I have EVER seen in terms of presenting a balanced view that clearly demonstrates that while Gen Y might be different than Gen X, the Boomers, and the Traditionalists, they bring a LOT of very positive and powerful new perspectives to the new world we all share. I enjoyed it - nice job Christy, Eileen, and Sam.

i'm hearing great feedback about the conference fr...

i'm hearing great feedback about the conference from people walking by, in elevators, etc. about how inspiring Lindsey Pollak's talk was, how much they've learned from the breakout sessions, the food, the beauty of the hotel. i can't agree more - i'm very grateful to have contributed to a conference that is making such a huge positive impact. i'm now completely in love with the liberty hotel and the wonderful staff.

-amy

one CSO from one of the colleges just commented th...

one CSO from one of the colleges just commented that she has learned so much, because she never learned how to use experience from a coworker, so if they misunderstood something or was prejudice against a certain features. As all eyes are focused on the importance of the next generation workforce (b/c the economy depends on it, companies' survival depends on it, the US's stature in the world order depends on it, etc), we -- meaning 'all of us engaged in launching the careers Gen Y' -- might FINALLY have the attention, momentum, and resources that are needed to change the world. These crazy times might open up the possibility of making career preparation a must-have part of higher education... and the possibility of creating systematic ways to engage employers -- and their millions of employees as mentors/ teachers/ role models, and their billions of dollars to fund new initiatives -- in the education and preparation of the next generation work force.

There is TOO MUCH AT STAKE for those of us who CAN make a difference to sit by and watch things play out... it is so, so, SO clear that the old way of doing things need to change... WE need to change. WE need to be the difference. AND WE WILL.

One of my favorite quotes of all time is from the anthropologist Margaret Mead, who said: "Never doubt the ability of a small group of committed citizens to change the world. In fact, it is the only thing that ever has."

Our "small group of committed citizens" is anything but 'small'... Together, we bring together the power of 10,000+ staff members at universities, 100,000+ employers and millions of employees (aka "alumni") those employers represent, and millions of students and alumni who are part of the Experience network -- not to mention the 60+ (and growing) team members at Experience who have more passion and commitment than I could ever attempt to put into words.

So I posed a challenge to everyone in the room: to pick just ONE of the bazillion breakthrough ideas that will be shared during this two-day conference, and COMMIT to bringing that idea back to your office and making it happen...

I can't wait to see what people come up with over the next two days!

The first day of the conference was FANTASTIC -- w...

The first day of the conference was FANTASTIC -- we just wrapped up the cocktail/social hour at the Liberty Hotel, and everyone went off to dinner and to get a good night's sleep for tomorrow's full agenda. The Liberty Hotel in Boston has been **amazing** in their customer service and professionalism... In 12 years of running Experience, I have never worked with a venue that has SO exceeded expectations at every turn. They know that Liz's expectations are very, very high -- but I think even Liz is impressed...! Looking forward to finding breakthroughs tomorrow....
Jenny

Stalked by the paparazzi! The conference is great s...

Stalked by the paparazzi!

The conference is great so far.
